Description

This template is intended to allow calls for citations for article categories, without repeating the claim implied by the category in the article text with a citation needed tag.

It will categorise tagged articles into Category:Articles with unsourced categories.

Usage

{{Uncited category|cat1=People|cat2=Films directed by Woody Allen|date=31 October 2025}} produces:

This article contains uncited categories (Category:People and Category:Films directed by Woody Allen). Please help improve this article by adding citations to reliable sources. Unsourced categories may be challenged and removed. (31 October 2025) (Learn how and when to remove this message)

For example, {{Uncited category|cat1=Music videos directed by Hype Williams|date=July 2013}}, could be placed on Talk:Saturday Night (Jessica Mauboy song) to indicate that the Category:Music videos directed by Hype Williams is not cited within the text of that article.
