When to use

This template should be used when an editor wants help from other editors on certain problems the editor is unsure about. It is used to show others what problems/queries the editor has (or link them to the talk page) and notify them that help is needed.

Usage

This template tags an article for attention from other editors which also links to the article's talk page. It should be added at the top of the article page.

{{Requires attention|for=|date=April 2024}}

When using this template, you MUST create a section on the article's talk page detailing your issues about the article and what other editors could do to help, as this template links to the article's talk page.

This template automatically puts pages marked with this template into the Category:All articles requiring attention.

Do not subst: this template.

Optional Parameters

  • This template takes the optional parameter |for= (a.k.a. |reason=) which can be used to explain what issues need to be addressed. The default value is "for reasons given on the talk page" (with a link to that talk page).
  • This template takes an optional parameter that replaces the word "article" in the displayed message with the word "section". For example, {{Requires attention|section}} displays "This section requires immediate attention for reasons given on the talk page."
  • This template takes the optional parameter |date=, with the format |date = April 2024. You can also type this as |subst: {{DATE}}.
  • This template takes the optional parameter |small = left which makes the template smaller.
  • This template takes the optional parameter |2= which can make the link to the talk page on the template link to a certain section of that talk page. E.g. {{Requires attention|2=Edit war|date=April 2024}} on the Wikipedia article would link to a section called Edit war on the Wikipedia talk page.
